Health is an important factor to consider it comes to work because good medical statuses among individuals at work determine the productivity of a firm and enhances the achievement of its future ambitions. (Liberty International, 1995). Employees often develop medical challenges in the workplace that tend to affect their urge to execute duties during work. The health concerns that occasionally affect individuals in the workplace include poor health habits and medical conditions that develop in certain situations. Smoking, stress, and inadequate body exercise are the poor medical behaviors that employees often develop that lowers their willingness to work. For instance, and individual smoking may frequently miss reporting for work. Health conditions that may hinder someone from taking responsibility at work include headache mirages, allergies, and depression. Stress lowers the morale for working since the employee cannot concentrate towards work. Insufficient body exercise often leads to physical unfitness that limits the rate of productivity of an individual.

Stress proves challenging for employees at work since the individuals lose focus towards performing their responsibilities. Therefore, it calls for practices that will end or reduce the situation. One of the ways to reduce stress is to organize and prioritize duties when overwhelmed by work. Besides, it is advisable to take care of oneself. Maintaining personal health can be done by getting enough sleep, choosing a suitable diet for food, avoiding drug abuse, and seeking an alternative listener (Liberty International, 1995). It is also possible to reduce stress by breaking poor work habits. Lateness, nasty attitudes towards other workers, and the tendency to attain perfection are some of the undesirable behaviors at work that cause stress. It is also important to identify the symptoms of stress at work. The research studies conducted recently reveal that occupational health and safety will continue creating challenges to firms in future (Liberty international, 1995). The health problems will often affect people at work. Besides, stress would be inevitable although it is controllable.

Capstone course refers to a research-based course done in the final semester of nursing school. The course involves intensive, broad, and accelerated seven-week class of clinical familiarity that concludes the nursing course order. Also, Capstone course helps provides the participants with a meaningful and educational experience that draws attention to the evident based practice (EBP) process. The students have the opportunity to synthesize and apply the knowledge, skills, and abilities gained from the research, which offers them a nursing experience before the start of their careers. Consequently, I will analyse the experiences and skills I learned throughout my time as a nursing student to help other apprentices interested in this course understand its significance to the community and personal development.

As a senior nursing student, the capstone course provided me with the opportunity to integrate sound education with excellent nursing knowledge and a powerful educational experience. Additionally, I gained a higher level of understanding that expounded my knowledge and clinical skills, prompting me to experience a sense of growth and a lot of accomplishments. I also had a taste of one-on-one experience with the healthcare situations and real life patients which assisted me to focus on becoming a qualified graduate nurse.

The research was a learning process for my career and the most important lessons I learnt included to work hard. For example, during my internships I give patients quality care by providing hands-on care despite their settings. I needed to understand fully that the type of care I should offer the patients involves the physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of all patients (Naylor & Kurtzman, 2010, p. 894). I also learned that, as a nurse, I need to maintain patient’s dignity through the entire process through the provision of knowledgeable care without compromising the patients. Secondly, as a good communicator, I will help to improve the health care environment by practicing good communication skills which will help build a good understanding between the care provider and the patient to fasten the service period and healing process. Lastly, I should work hard and advocate for patient’s rights, supporting their decisions and stand up for their best interest which will help empower the patient.

The challenges experienced during the location of evidence to the nursing problems included lack of infrastructure like the tools and means that the researchers could use easily at their disposal in the duration of evidence collection (Parahoo, 2014, p.156). The students also lacked adequate research training, meaning they did not have the knowledge and the experience required for the study. For that reason, they did not have the ability to handle the research properly. Lastly, the data collection challenges exist because of the lack of cooperation from the interviewers making it almost difficult to get information out of them.

During the presentation time, I learnt about the value of being audible enough for the peers to hear my analysis well and incorporate little time for discussion so as to buy their ideas of their reasoning. My audience were good listeners and quite critical in their thinking making the presentation quite engaging and full of life. I learnt a lot from their submissions, such as problem-solving skills, excellent human relations, and the importance of teamwork. The most important thing about the presentation was the kind of intellectual interaction that the students got involved in and the knowledge all pupils gained from each other’s works. Additionally, the course allowed me to interact with other professionals and learnt much from their work and appreciated their advice a lot. The practicality of the entire course was quite a good experience that taught me first hand on how to handle patients and deal with lots of health care situations. Meeting other students from other institutions during the practice also helped me to gain more skills and knowledge from them and made new contacts that could help build my career.

Capstone course provides a reality-based learning process with a unique way of transferring knowledge that guides the students gradually how to provide good service, and be of good influence to the patient during a caregiving period. The course also offers more than technical expertise, which includes leadership skills, teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and interpersonal relation skills. I can gladly say that due to all the mentioned experiences during the capstone course I have all it requires to look forward to a successful career. Am very optimistic that I hold a greater chance in the labor market with all the advantages because capstone has taught me to be creative, resourceful, independent and integrated.

The lessons that I have learnt during the capstone course will apply in my daily routine as I deal with all kinds of patients. The communication skills, decision-making abilities, and proper human relations skills will help me in relating well with both the patients and my colleagues. I plan to be a role model to my fellow members through working hard and making sure that all the patients get proper treatment and that their rights do not get violated as well. Lastly, I will carry on with the same skills learnt now to help me lift my future career to reach my satisfaction level.

The practice gives the nursing students an experience that enables them to work independently. Capstone programs provide a platform of fruitful and satisfactory results in which the students can bank on to develop or build a serious career. Similarly, capstone provides a useful insight on how to improve the course experience so that it can contribute to the success of the student’s future career (Andereasen & Wu, 1999, p.74). The course helps the students to transfer all the skills and the experience gained to practical use and build a comprehensive foundation for improving both the learning and teaching process to impact positively the lives of the patients.
